1st International Holiday Charity Songfest & Fashion Parade


The 1st International Holiday Charity Songfest & Fashion Parade is in full swing. Excitement fills the air and has inspired leaders from diversified communities to combine forces. The songfest, which will be held at the Sterling Hotel on December 11, 2005 (Sunday) starting at 4:00 p.m. is a contest among multi ethnic choral groups with $1000 cash prize at stake donated by Fiesta Mart. It also features a young Latino Idol, Eric Flores, former band member of the famous Los Kumbia Kings. Eric, who won the hearts of his fans with his Saxophone will share his new voice recording currently gaining popularity in Corpus Christi and San Antonio. To add spice to the festivity, the lovely Asian American models will do a fashion parade showcasing their native ensemble. Net proceeds of the event will be donated to Katrina and Rita victims as well as to the earthquake victims in Afghanistan, India and Pakistan through the Red Cross.

The Texas Herald, Regali Promotions, CNTV, USPAACC Southwest, Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, Miss Asian American Texas, and DFW International Alliance are hosting the event. Co-hosting are TV Asia & FunAsia, AWE , GDAACC, GDHACC, and DFW AACC. Invited to be guests of honor are Hon. Martha J. Wong, the 1st Asian Woman Texas State Representative , Mayor Herbert A. Gears and his First Lady.

Raffle tickets worth $1.00 each are sold before and during the event. Prizes are donated by Fiesta Mart, Foley's, Sterling Hotel, Jack Burns of DeTech, Jewels By Parklane, Quality Inn Sherman and Rivero & Associates. (No need to be present to win).

For an entrance fee of $10 per adult, (kids under 12 are free), high tea & Asian light buffet will be served courtesy of Addison Mayor Joe Chow of May Dragon, New Little PI, Philippine Republic Day Celebration, Trinicare Home Health Inc and Edward Okpa . Souvenir program courtesy of DFW International Airport, entrance tickets courtesy of Arrowgraphics Printing Press, soda, water donated by Coca Cola, music provided by Gil Laserna.
